Once again the weather did us proud for this years event. Though the sun does pose a few problems taking photographs. All alphabetical entries up to York Pullman took part in the Rally proper. The others were taking advantage of a nice day at the beach.

Although the weather was dull at times, overall it was a good day for taking pics. Took more than my usual number this time, but I did miss a few I think. I have noticed one or two mistakes and will correct as time goes on. Some of the details are missing as I left my programme on one of the motorway services, so have had to rely on my pics and Showbus website.

Sunshine once again made it a wonderful days event. This year I have put the exhibits in numerical order of their entry numbers if they were displayed on the vehicles. Those without numbers are at the end of the collection. The operators names will be obvious in the majority of cases, but there are a few where the details are/were not known either by entry on the web site or in the programme. I have detailed those few as to where they were most likely found when running in service.

Worked it a bit different this year. After arriving at about 8:30, stood by the main entrance for the exhibits and took 90 minutes of video, then went to take pics. Unfortunately, a lot of the ones I wanted pics of were parked too close to the safety barriers, but I still had them on video. Probably do it another way next year.

This was my first venture into bus rallies, and it so happened to be starting from Manchester City FC car park, which was 2 streets from where I lived at the time. It ran from Manchester - Harrogate, and it was for all types of commecial vehicles, both steam and internal combustion, to take part. Although the steam powered vehicles started from further down the route. Speed and vehicle weight being the deciding factor. Some details may be a little suspect, but a lot of it is from memory and the few notes that I did take at the time.
